The freshman baseball players
have kicked off the league season; with a record of 4-3, much
is to be expected from this Warrior team.
Saint Francis was the first opponent the freshmen faced in league;
the result of the game was a bit of a disappointment to the Warriors
with a final score of 8-14, but they moved on and prepared to
face the next challenge.
Valley Christian faced the Mitty Monarchs on April 5 in one of
the toughest games of the season. Unfortunately, the close game
ended in favor of the Monarchs, with a 1-2 defeat for the Warriors.
The Sacred Heart Cathedral game on April 9 brought a huge win
for the Warriors. A 16-2 victory ended the streak of bad luck
and inspired hope for the games to come.
The Warriors faced Bellarmine on April 12, and expectations were
high. After a close game, the Warriors were quite satisfied with
a 5-3 victory over the Bells.
The Saint Ignatius Wildcats were the Warriors’ next opponent.
Bringing home yet another win, the Valley Christian defeated the
Wildcats by three runs with a final score of 7-4.
The winning streak continued as Valley faced Serra on April 16.
The teams were neck and neck as it came down to the final plays,
but the Warriors were able to achieve a 3-2 victory over the Padres.
As the freshmen baseball players begin the second half of the
season, expectations are high for the final games of the year.
