With a record of 9-6, the
J.V. baseball team has begun the second half of the season.
The first league game against Saint Francis on March 15 proved
to be an intense battle all the way until the end. The Lancers
managed to gain a 10-4 lead over the Warriors that could not be
overcome, resulting in a loss for Valley Christian.
April 6 brought another tough opponent: Archbishop Mitty. The
teams faced off at West Valley College, and both fought hard.
The game resulted in another loss for the J.V. team, with a close
score of 5-7.
The Warriors were back at the top of their game on April 9 against
Sacred Heart Cathedral. As the innings stretched on, the Warriors
took the lead to make a strong finish with a final score of 15-12.
The J.V. players faced Bellarmine on April 12. Though a heated
competition ended up in a 2-10 loss for the Warriors, they continued
to be encouraged and look ahead for the games to come.
The rescheduled game against Saint Ignatius took place on April
14. Proving that the streak of bad luck was nothing more than
a fluke, the Warriors battled out the innings to achieve a rewarding
7-1 win over the Wildcats.
Junipero Serra also proved to be no match for the Warriors; though
the Padres fought hard, the J.V. Warrior team was able to come
up with an easy 9-1 victory.
As the games continue, the Warriors remain confident in securing
their place in the league; with hard work, dedication, and, of
course, support from their fans, the players are sure to have
a great season.
