The varsity girls softball
team has proven to be a determined, and hardworking team, earning
every win they have obtained this season. With a record of 17
wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie, varsity softball is on its way to finishing
up a great season.
Since the March 25 game against Oak Grove, winning 3-0, they have
won all 8 games except for the loss to Mitty with a score of 5-0.
They beat Presentation 2-0, Milpitas 5-3, Notre Dame 4-0, and
most recently, St. Francis 4-3. More specifically, Milpitas was
won in the 12th inning when Kaitlyn Rauschnot hit a double with
2 on base, finishing the score with Valley up by 2 runs. Chana’e
Jones was 4 for 5 by slamming a homerun, a triple, and 2 singles.
Against Notre Dame, the Lady Warriors had many successful offensive
innings as well. Brittany Hendrickson hit a triple, and Laura
Forrest was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s. The game against St. Francis
on April 19 was a 4-3 win with Hendrickson hitting another triple,
and the winning run was batted in by Carissa Lim who was 2 for
3 during the game. The Warriors are not letting these victories
go to their heads though. The ladies are still planning to working
as hard as they can win with determination and effort throughout
the rest of the season.
