A Season of Growth For Freshmen Girls Hoopsters In First High School Season

by Trippe Gibson

The freshmen girls basketball team got off to a good start this year, winning against Anchorpoint, Oceana, and Lincoln high school. The girls basketball team continued to play hard, however fell short in losses to Presentation, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Archbishop Mitty, Notre Dame, St. Francis, and St. Ignatius. As the girls continue to play hard, they are confident that they can rebound off of their losing streak. Talking to many players of this hard-working team, they are prepared to “run the table” and finish decently in the standings.

Freshman Jeho Hong said, “The team’s record does not reflect their skill level and their strong efforts.”

The freshmen girls have the motivation and the will power to finish this season off strong, and they definitely have the support. The girls are determined that they will beat St. Ignatius next time they play on the 9th, after a close game that ended up 15-36, scoring 10 points in the last quarter.
