Christian Singer Takes Grammy Nods

by David Wang

Have you ever sung the songs How Great is Our God, Forever, Famous One, or Holy is the Lord? If you have, then you have sung a song written by Grammy nominee, Chris Tomlin.

This year Chris Tomlin took the Grammy nomination for Gospel Performance of the year for his song Made to Worship and a second nomination for Pop / Contemporary Gospel Album of the year for his recent album See the Morning. With a heart and sound for worship like Chris Tomlin has, it’s about time.

Chris Tomlin wrote his first worship song when he was fourteen. He was originally studying to be a doctor, but he believed God had a different plan for his life. Since then, Chris Tomlin has joined with Louie Giglio for the Passion movement and they have gone all over the U.S. holding concerts for hundreds of thousands of people. Chris Tomlin is now a worship leader at Austin Stone Community Church in Grand Saline, Texas. With the combination of Daniel Carson’s electric guitar, Jesse Reeves’ bass, and Travis Nunn’s drums, the Chris Tomlin band has an amazing praise tone and sound. Tomlin’s voice has an astonishing strength and resound when he powers through his chorus. He’s a dominant force in modern praise music.
