and Worst Christmas Memories
By BreAnne Flippo

“My worst Christmas
memory was last year because I was really sick. At my family Christmas
party, all I could eat was mashed potatoes which I ended up losing
at two in the morning.”
-Michelle Balazs
“My best Christmas memory was when
Santa came to my house. Even though it was really my dad’s
friend, I believed it because I was five.”-Deanna Hann
“My worst Christmas memory was when
I was four years old, and all I wanted for Christmas was a pink
tutu so that I could be a ballerina. But instead of the tutu,
I got purple pants and a reindeer sweater. I told my mom that
Santa must have forgotten that all I wanted was a tutu, and my
mom replied, “Oh, but there is probably a little girl on
the other side of town opening a pink tutu and saying that all
she really wanted was purple pants and a reindeer sweater.”
I think that is the meanest thing you can say to a child.”-Mrs.
Lile-Taylor
“One night I woke up early, and I
walked out to the living room to see if Santa was there. I saw
my dad with the gifts, and that’s when I realized Santa
did not exist.”-Caroline Evans
“I was living in an apartment and
my brother and I didn’t expect to get any presents because
there was no chimney in the apartment, but lo and behold, there
was my brother’s Sega Genesis and my Secret Sender sitting
by our stockings that were hanging on the TV set.” –Meryl
Fulinara
“One Christmas when I was young,
my parents saved the best present for last, but it wasn’t
under the tree. They hid it somewhere in the house and made me
do a scavenger hunt to find it. It was really fun.”-Brian
Elwell
“Every Christmas stands out as a
great day of the year to me, but last Christmas stood out among
the Christmases. My sister wrote me a 35-page story about our
imaginary characters on an adventure. It was the best Christmas
gift I have received in a long time”-Blake Anderson
“My dad got all the tags mixed up
on the gifts, so I opened all my sisters gifts and she opened
all of mine.” –Ryan Eshoff
“My mom put my little brother’s
name on all of my presents and vice versa. It was chaos. I was
opening all of my brother’s presents.”-Eric Chase
“When I was 5, there was a cute white
bear I wanted with a bunch of little cute clothes that went with
it. I thought I had no chance of getting it, but I did. Best of
all, I got it before Christmas, but my mom told me not to tell
anyone.”
-Leah Calderon
“One Christmas I broke my hand, and I had to open my presents
with scissors.”-Leah Gaul
“We spent Christmas in Hawaii, which
was a change of pace. It was beautiful. Instead of hot chocolate
and gingerbread we enjoyed virgin margaritas and pineapple.”
-Josh Park
“In Hawaii, I cut my foot on coral
and had to get stitches. I ended up spending my whole Hawaii Christmas
vacation on crutches or laying in bed.”-Peter Hubbard
“My cat got in a huge cat fight on
Christmas Eve, and he finally came home early in the morning on
Christmas. He was all beaten up, so we took him to the vet, but
it was closed. He was really sad, so I was sad for him.”
-Suzi Wakatsuki
“My worst Christmas was when we moved
into our new house because I had Jack in the Box for Christmas
Eve dinner, and I had to sleep on the floor.”
-Heather Heise
