Athlete Spotlight: Cristina
Masurat
by Heather Heise
Congratulations to Cristina
Masurat from the varsity girls soccer team. Cristina was nominated
by coaches Bill Stryker and Jolene Keel for this spotlight. Cristina
has been playing soccer at Valley for four years and has been
an inspiration and motivation for many of the girls. Coach Keel
stated, “Cristina is the most dedicated player on the team.
She personifies dedication and always gives 110%. She is extremely
talented and yet one of the most humble individuals I have ever
coached.”
Cristina is a scholar athlete and a top prospect at Clairmont-McKenna
College, one of the most prestige colleges in the country. Coach
Stryker commented, “Cristina is an amazing young lady. She
is dedicated, fun loving and has an unwavering faith that permeates
everything she does.” Through talking to the coaches it
was evident that Cristia’s humble nature and kind ways have
raised the bar. Cristina put numerous hours in the off-season
and has become a force to be reckoned with for playing time.
Congratulations Cristina; we wish you the best of luck this season
and can’t wait to report on all of your individual and teams’
success.
