JUNIOR VARSITY BOYS SOCCER:
HEADFIRST INTO THE WCAL
by Caroline Evans
After surviving tryouts,
the boys JV soccer team is ready to start the season.
The boys have both personal and team goals this year. Josh Park,
a freshman, hopes by the end of the season to be in better shape.
“I hope we can become a stronger team and win some more
games,” commented Park.
John Walitsch, who plays center midfield, hopes that the team,
“becomes stronger Christians and have more Christ-like attitudes.”
Walitsch also wants to help the team become more united.
The JV boys soccer, which for now is undefeated, won their first
game against Leigh High School. The score was 2-1, with Ryan Favor
scoring both goals and Walitsch earning an assist. The soccer
team won with two seconds left in the game. Walitsch described
the game as “fun and exciting! I was really happy.”
The boys gave a long season ahead of them. The season that ends
in February is filled with rivals like Bellarmine and Mitty.
