JV Football: Congratulations
on a Hard Fought Season
by Kylie Gifford
The season has come to a close
for the JV football team, with an overall record of 3-7. After
months of dedicated practice and challenging games, the boys turned
in their gear on November 15 after their final two games.
The game against Bellarmine on November 6 was a much-anticipated
event, as the boys had few opportunities left to finish the season
strong. After four quarters of an exhausting battle, the Warriors
pulled out with a final score of 14-15.
Closing out the season with a game against St. Francis on November
12, the boys struggled to escape the pattern they’d gotten
into. A final score of 14-17 was not exactly the outcome they
had hoped for, but with another year of experience behind them,
the players are prepared to face the challenge of varsity football
at the start of next season.
Some, however, did not have to wait that long; sophomores Anthony
Schmidt, Ben Moreno, and Michael Gioncola were informed on November
15 that they were to be joining the varsity team as they headed
into playoffs. Congratulations, guys, and congratulations to the
rest of the JV team for persevering through a tough season.
