Scholarship Signings Valley Christian is well known for its superior athletes who have made a landmark impression on the Bay Area. Many Colleges come to Valley to recruit the remarkable athletes who attend this institution. At this point in the year, two Valley Christian students have both signed with outstanding colleges that will provide them not only with top notch athletics, but also get a excellent education.
Khrystal Carter has signed with Texas A&M with a full ride scholarship. She said, “ I can’t wait to move on to Texas A&M and further my athletic career and education. I have a little bit of family out there, and my old teammate Evelyn Wing goes there so it should be a fun and exciting transition.” Khrystal has been Athlete of the Week for the Mercury News and San Francisco Chronicle. She was also Sprinter of the Year two years in a row for the Mercury News. In 2004 and 2005 Khrystal was named one of the top athletes for track and field. She is also in the top five female sprinters in the nation. Texas A&M is gaining a state, national, and world track champion. Good luck Khrystal!
Haley Carrol is attending the University of San Francisco this upcoming school year. Haley said, “I’m so excited to play at USF. They are really good at volleyball and my sister who is my best friend plays there too!” She has been Athlete of the Week for the Mercury News. At fifteen Haley was voted by the Olympic most likely to play in the Olympics. Also, when she was fifteen, her team was first in the nation. In the Junior Olympics she was named an All- American. Haley is looking forward to receiving a great college education at the University of San Francisco while playing the sport she loves. Be sure to congratulate Haley on her huge accomplishment! |
