By Brittany Kelly

The game of soccer combines the many different talents of long distance
running, kicking and passing, a strong defense and strategy. Valley
Christian boys varsity soccer team displays such talents and anticipates
a promising season. In preparation, they condition for their upcoming
season, the boys have worked long and hard. Senior, Chris
McElhatton, who missed approximately two weeks of practice
due to his previous commitment with varsity cross-country explains,
“I have only been out there for a week, but already I can tell we
have got a ridiculous amount of talent on our team.” Head coach
Aleks Vranicic, works along side with his assistant coach
John Basanese to train and coach the boys to success.
With the league season yet to begin, the team has already played in
six pre-season games, displaying their competitive spirit, in their
victory against Homestead. Their first season game will be on Thursday
December 8, against notoriously known rival Saint Francis. Senior
captains Jeffrey Coggan and Austin Keeling
are ready to lead their team to success in the WCAL. Make sure to
support your Valley Christian varsity boys soccer team in their future
