Congratulations to the boys varsity water polo for a great season. They have trained hard and played well throughout the whole season. Although they only had one win, the matches were fought long and hard; Matt Smith led the team in goals. Matt Smith is a senior at Valley Christian and is a great team player. He was the Spotlight Athlete last month in the Warrior and is a great contribution to the water polo team. With Matt Smith scoring and Jonathan Langdon as the goalie, they are the perfect balance of offense and defense. The team this year has included a variety of both upper and younger classmates. Shayne Fleming is only a freshman, yet he has impacted the team tremendously with his skill and love for water polo.
Although the team did not complete this season as well as they intended to, they are dedicated to training harder to succeed next year with some of the underclassman moving up to the varsity level and players like Shayne Fleming adding a positive impact and they will perform very well.
