After a Long and Competitive Season, Girls Water Polo Ends on High Note

by Alan Lee and Eric Tort

With a league record of 1-6, the girls varsity water polo season has finally come to an end. The team had a great start, winning at the beginning of the year in the Lincoln Tournament. Their overall tournament record resulted in 10-14. Now that it is all over, what is the team planning on doing next? Alex Wells is “looking forward to next year” however, “as long as the team is dedicated and starts practicing early summer.” The girls varsity water polo coach, Laura Scott, also agrees with this, and is eager to coach the team next year.

Teammate Megan Tencati said, “It was a fun season, despite our losses. We all got along well and I’m glad I got to get close with all my water polo friends.” Tencati has been playing goalie for years now, and her stats show it. She did well this season and competed hard throughout the years. “This one time during practice, my friend was swimming a little too close to me and accidentally hit me in the face, giving me a black eye. I was out for the next game,” said Tencati. Tencati is now a senior, “I am glad that I got to play for this school’s team. Good luck to all my friends next year!”

Now that it is all over, the team can finally hang up their swimming caps and relax for the rest of the year.
