During the month of November there was a remarkable display of talent during lunch. Students who directed their own brown bag productions were given high praise for their work and dedication on such a challenging task.
Director Victoria Rees ‘07 received many positive reviews on her short skit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail starring Robert Norman ‘08 and Nikki Jackson ‘07. The play featured a skit where Jackson came in with a complaint that a bird had died, and Norman’s character refused to believe that the bird was dead. This comedy was extremely entertaining, and left members of the audience wishing they could “pay to argue.”
Another play featured was senior Katie Silva’s Family 2.0. This comedy featured junior David Chapin, a man bored with his life who decides to switch families and join another family more new and exciting than his own. He enters the family of a mother played by senior Faith Kreiwall who goes along with this strange man’s plans and decides to get rid of her own husband. Her previous husband, played by Derek Bausek came back to his happy home and realized that he had been kicked out. Bausek becomes the family dog, much to the excitement of his two children played by Brit Abrahamson and Roybn Buller. Audiences could not help but laugh as this play presents one dramatic incident after another.
To advertise the fantastic dance show “Enigma,” the students showed a small performance on November 8 to advertise for the dance show on the following week. The preview was a fabulous success, and it was only a small preview of the talent to come.
All of the students that preformed were remarkable, and it is because of their talent that bag lunches have been such a success.
