Music Review: Secondhand Serenade

by Eric Tort

With a breathtaking vocal range, John Vesely is bringing the best aspects of showmanship and songwriting back to their roots. Vesely could never settle down in one place with one band, so in the summer of 2004, he started his own solo career, Secondhand Serenade, to prove this statement. It quickly became clear that the demand for Secondhand Serenade was something that he had never experienced before. His turnout at live shows, along with increasing online support, incited him to record his first album, “Awake”.

The self-produced album brings together a flawless combination of mellow acoustic melodies that is enjoyed by all that take the time to hear. His approach on how he makes music is receiving overwhelming support and response from fans everywhere. Although he isn’t signed with any record companies, Vesely is considered as a competing artist against any other mainstream band. Check out Secondhand Serenade at either his Purevolume or Myspace site.
