During November 15-18, dancers delighted audiences with their dance show Emotions: ENIGMA: Questions About Life. All the dances were interesting and fun to watch. Some themes were from movies and about life. Dances were student choreographed and brought together by dance teacher, Mrs. Autumn Mortenson. The dances varied from jazz, lyrical jazz, hip-hop, ballet and tap.
This creative event was held in the VC theatre. “I am very proud. The students express their personality and creativity with a certain content more and more each year. The cast got along well and worked great together,” said VCHS dance teacher, Mrs. Mortenson.
The students had great energy and enthusiasm toward the crowd. The crowd was eager to see more and cheered loudly. This year, more freshman tried out, for some it was their first time dancing. They did wonderful, and their level of dancing was so good no one could tell it was the first time. “I had a fun experience and I look forward to next year’s show. Everybody stepped up and performed to the best of their ability,” said sophomore Kaela White who is enrolled in Hip Hop II. The students worked hard for two months straight, and it definitely showed! If anyone missed this year’s Emotions, there is the spring show later this year and also next year’s Emotions.
