A Christmas Nightmare

by Christina Khosrowabadi and Monica Ramirez

Christmas is filled with joyful memories, BUT sometimes it can easily turn into a nightmare. Some of Valley’s own teachers have shared experiences of their precious holidays.

MR. MARSHALL:
“For Christmas, I usually cook a huge feast (15 course meal!) for my family, and one time I asked them to watch the food while I went to the store. When I came back the food had burned because my family was watching the football game. I got furious and dumped the food out and we ended up having sandwiches for Christmas dinner.”

MRS. GRIFFIN:
“My husband and I had different opinions on how the tree should be decorated on our first Christmas together. We had our first argument at the store over the hideous garlands. He wanted to put garlands on the tree because it was a tradition of his grandfather who had just passed away. When I refused to give in, he got ‘very emotional.’ In the end, we bought the garlands but I managed to hide them year after year. I won!”

MR. MALEK:
“I will get a BMX bike. I will get a BMX bike. I will get a BMX bike. I did not get a BMX bike.”

MISS CLAYPOOL:
“My boyfriend and I went out to dinner during the holidays and afterwards we were sitting in the car talking. He told me that he thought I was a passionate person, but after seeing the silly gift I gave him at first, he assumed I wasn’t passionate. Then I gave him a nice shirt he really wanted and then he dumped me. He kept the shirt.”
