Music Review: The Devil Wears Prada

by Eric Tort and Alan Lee

That’s right, you read it correct, and this is not the movie that we are talking about. The Devil Wears Prada is a Christian band that started one and half years ago originally from Dayton, Ohio. They have obviously chosen to name themselves after the comedy flick but the two are nothing alike. Sounding similar to “Job For A Cowboy” and “Underoath,” The Devil Wears Prada combines the two sounds creating an epic new sound. Although this band has only been around for a year, they have already landed an Indie label with Rise Records, the same label that has signed “Dance Gavin Dance.”

The Devil Wears Prada has a pretty big appearance as far as musicians are concerned, consisting of six members: two guitarists, bass, drums, keyboard, and a lead vocalist. Their latest album “Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord,” came out August 22, and can now be purchased at almost every CD store. The CD is sold across the USA in Best Buy, FYE, Wal-Mart, Sam Goody, Fred Meyers, Hot Topic, Barnes and Noble, Borders, Coconuts, CD Connection, HMV, Virgin Records, Hastings, Tower Records, and many other local record shops.

You can check out The Devil Wears Prada at either their Myspace or Purevolume site at www.purevolume.com/TheDevilWearsPrada or www.myspace.com/TDWP.
