Upcoming Musical: Guys and Dolls

by Eric Tort and Alan Lee

If you are looking for an evening of high spirited entertainment involving New York petty criminals and professional gamblers, then you should come see Valley Christian’s upcoming musical “Guys and Dolls”. This production tells a story of a group of small-time gamblers and the ladies in their lives. Character Nathan Detroit, played by Jacob Jones, bets his pal Sky Masterson (Daniel Huffman) that he can’t make the next lady he sees fall in love with him.

Senior Victoria Rees is cast as Miss Adalaide, one of the lead roles. She says that, “This is going to be one of our best productions yet. With everyone working together, I have a feeling that it’s going to be an enlivening show for both the audience and cast.”

“Guys and Dolls” was originally a successful 1950 musical. It ran on Broadway for a total of 1200 performances as well as three revivals (totaling another 1397 performances). Thanks to the original composing of Frank Loesser, Valley Christian is now taking his great idea and bringing it back to life just one more time, with the help of Valley’s students. So if you enjoy plays and want to a fun time check “Guys and Dolls” out soon.
