“Save the cheerleader, save the world” and “Are you on the list?” are the infamous taglines that comes to mind at the thought of this new hit television series. This season, the small screen is revolutionized with a fresh new show that profiles six main characters who have supernatural abilities. Created by the producers of “Crossing Jordan” and “House,” “Heroes” is a new spin on superhero series. The show follows their journeys as they explore the uncanny features of them they never knew. The bizarre events that occur on the way is half the fun! This comic book style show has captured the attention of America’s viewers.
This heart-stopping drama features unexpected plots and extraordinary characters. A few characters who contain these weird and indescribable skills are Peter Patrelli, played by Milo Ventimiglia, a male nurse and politician’s younger brother who is stalked by nightmares of his flying abilities, and 16-year old cheerleader Claire, played by Hayden Panettiere, who discovers through experimentation that she is indestructible. Another extraordinary character is Hiro Nakamura, played by Masi Oka, who is a computer wiz who through will power can change the speed of time as well as travel back to the past.
The show has been nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, five other awards, and was the winner of one award from the People’s Choice Awards. America Ferrera, who plays Betty, won a Golden Globe with her inspiring role in the hit series. With their winning cast and heart stopping plots, this show looks at a successful future. You can experience this phenomenon on NBC’s Mondays at 9 PM.
