Junior Varsity Girls Soccer
Storms Forward
by Kylie Gifford
The soccer season has begun
for the JV girls. After final cuts were made on November 19, the
team began prepping for their first game against Leland on December
7.
Coaches Zach Nichols and Jill Carlson, new to VC’s program,
have high hopes as well as high expectations for the team this
year. As the girls get ready for the games to begin, practices
include everything from “vitamins” to varsity assistant
coach Bill Stryker’s lesson on zone defense and the famous
rope drill in the effort to become one step ahead of the competition.
Over the course of the season, the girls
will face WCAL rivals including Presentation, St. Ignatius, and
Mitty, keeping them on their toes all season long.
