Arena Faith Night
San Jose Stealth Supports Faith Night

By Brittany Brinkman

When the San Jose Stealth players came to chapel they talked about the origins of the first lacrosse games. The game is played by the use of a netted racquet with which to pick the ball off the ground, throw, catch and pass on it into or past a goal to score a point. The main rule in all types of lacrosse was that the ball, must not be touched with the hands. The Native Americans used to play this game to settle disputes between tribes. When the missionaries arrived from Europe, they noticed that the players used to form cross shapes with their sticks and that is how the name lacrosse was formed.
The San Jose Stealth is now carrying on the tradition of the American Indians by playing professional lacrosse. The ASB went to one of the Stealth games in order to experience the thrills of the game. They then promoted a special night for the Stealth team called Faith Night. This was a calling for people with strong faith to come together and support the Stealth team. The ASB sold many tickets for this event and many Valley students enjoyed the night of faith together.
Come and support the Stealth team by attending their games at the H.P. Pavilion.
