Frosh Boys Stay in the Game
By Michael Zamudio

The team started their season against James Lick and was able to come on top with a huge win.
This season has been a tough fight for the freshmen boys basketball team. They started their play in the W.C.A.L. on Tuesday, January 3 against Saint Francis. The team played strong the entire game with precise rebounding, passing, and scoring. They were able to come out on top 55-30. A few days later, the boys played Riordan and kept their guard until the end of the game, when Riordan was able to pull away by six points resulting in a loss for VC, 46-40. The next week the team faced league opponents Mitty, Saint Ignatius, and Sacred Heart Cathedral and played with intensity in each game but was not able to come out victorious. On Tuesday January 13, the team went against Bellarmine and both teams played great defense keeping the game at a low score, but the Bells were able to keep the Warriors from scoring and win the game 37-22. That same week, on Friday January 20, VC traveled to San Mateo to play Serra. Both teams fought hard, but Valley could not keep up with the Serra offense, losing 49-41. Although the freshmen boys basketball team has faced adversity, they look to continue playing fiercely against all of their opponents.

Winter Ball
