J.V. Soccer Girls Stay Confident
By Sarah Reinartz

So far the season has caused an uproar of excitement among the young ladies of the J.V. girls soccer team. Tuesday, January 10 was an overwhelming win for Valley. The girls dominated 5-0 against Sacred Heart Prep. Lyndi Hausmen was the first to score for the Lady Warriors. Followed by Sarah Pitzen, (who scored the second and fourth goals) Megan Malave, and Aaron Holm. “We all worked together as a team and in the end we came out with a win,” said Sarah Maxwell.
Despite valiant effort, the game against St. Francis on Thursday January 12 ended up as 0-2 loss for Valley. The win for St. Francis came through a penalty kick, and a nicely planned out shot. The game on January 14 versus St. Ignatius also came out as a loss, 0-2 for Valley. The girls played their hardest during the game against Mitty on January 19, but Mitty ended up coming out on top. The final score was 0-7. “Mitty is a tough team, and even though we all know that we could have beaten them, we aren’t going to give up just because we lost to Mitty,” said Maxwell. The unfortunate losses did not hurt the girls’ confidence, in fact, “They will come out looking for their next victory,” said Charlene Morales.

Winter Ball
As guys scrounge up the nerve to ask that special girl to Winter Ball, girls are spending their time in dress shops looking for that perfect dress. The only way to avoid this terrible situation is to buy a one of a kind dress from a smaller less popular dress store.
