Letter from
the Editor
By Steven Giordano
As the second semester is
finally upon us, we discover the disheartening news that school
for 2005-2006 is just barely half over. At this time of the year,
it seems like school will go on forever. Seniors are swamped with
last minute applications and the stress of anticipation. But,
the flip side of all of this anxiety is probably the more appealing.
Winter Ball is just eight days away. It should be great. Don’t
forget the Superbowl the day after. Following is Valentine’s Day;
it is always awesome to receive some goofy cards reminiscent of
elementary school days. Various breaks and days off are the real
treat though. As much as many may say how much they love coming
to school so early on freezing mornings with chilling winds… never
mind. Great times are ahead, so keep the chins up.
Many people take this time each year, even though it is nearly
February, to evaluate their lives and seek to redirect their current
ways. Resolutions, promises, and goals are a large part of what
can fill the January mind. It is an exciting time because one
can think of all the possibilities. Like for all you Dodger-hating
Giants fans out there, a new season of hope is just sixty-seven
days away. To be more relevant, knowing God, studying His Word,
self-improvements, exercise, eating habits, and everything else
under the sun are all thing to think about. Check the back page,
Wrapping Up, for some great, and some quite random, resolutions
for 2006. Change is often gradual but give it a chance.
Yet, experiencing other people’s attempts at change can be an
adventure. Personally, having parents changing diets definitely
affects me. Pasta is just not the same when it is whole wheat.
In closing, this issue was a challenge because not a lot is happening
right after the holidays. But I cannot say enough about the staff
of editors, writers, and photographers who have made this January
issue one of the best yet. Enjoy.

Winter Ball
As guys scrounge up the nerve to ask that special girl to Winter
Ball, girls are spending their time in dress shops looking for
that perfect dress. The worst-case scenario would be for a girl
to walk into Decathlon and see another girl wearing the same dress.
The only way to avoid this terrible situation is to buy a one
of a kind dress from a smaller less popular dress store.

Varsity Boys Basketball
Take On League!
What is that they say about being a gracious host? From
December 8-10, the varsity boys basketball team opened their gym
for the West Coast Classic, an eight-team tournament of talented
basketball squads. The Warriors rolled through their own event,
defeating Wilson Prep of Oakland by an 80-25 margin, Mount Eden
of Hayward 51-40, and made a victory over defending champion Woodside
in the final.
