Last Minute Tips for the Perfect Winter Ball
To do's for the last 5 days before...

By Brittany Brinkman

 Guys
1. Go get your extremely handsome tuxedo and make sure your neck tie/bow tie and vest match your date’s gown.
2. Order a corsage that is not too big and make sure the color will not totally clash with your date’s dress.
3. Count how many of your friends and their dates will be in your group and make your dinner reservations.
4. If your hair is a little unkempt you may want to schedule a last minute hair cut at your local salon.
5. Take the initiative to help your date finalize plans and also make sure you know how you and your lovely lady are getting to and from the dance.
6. Figure out all ride situations. Make sure your whole group knows where to meet and what time.
7. Print out directions from your starting point (your house or your date’s house) to the restaurant, then from the restaurant to the dance.
8. Get a lot of sleep! You do not want to be tired for your date!

 Girls
1. Make sure you have a perfect dress, some awesome shoes, and any accessories to complete your flawless outfit.
2. Break your new heels in by walking and dancing around your room.
3. Remember, you want to feel like the belle of the ball, so make your dress perfect by getting some last minute tailoring.
4. Order the boutonniere from your local florist or grocery store with a floral center.
5. Pick up any make-up, glitter, nail polish, hair supplies or whatever you need for your special night.
6. If you have not already made your hair appointment, make it right now. You may be able to get a time with some salons if you call around the Bay Area.
7. Ladies, you want to look your best, so try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

The day of…
 Guys
1. If you are taking your date to the dance in your car, clean it up a little. You want to leave a great impression.
2. Before you leave, comb your hair, and you may want to put some gel or hairspray in it to keep your style fresh the entire night.
3. Do not forget the TICKETS! Check multiple times before you leave your house that you have both of them!
4. If you go to pick up your date at her house, BE PATIENT!! Your lovely lady may not be quite ready, so make some good conversation with her parents and do not be nervous.
5. Pick up the corsage! Check your florist’s business hours, because some close early. You would not want to show up empty handed.
 * If you want more information relating to dances pick up a Seventeen Prom magazine at your local grocery store.

 Girls

1. Have everything you need for tonight all laid out on your bed.
2. Pick up the boutonniere at the store and put it in the fridge.
3. Go to you hair appointment with your hair already washed and blow dried. This will allow the process to go faster. Also it is very important to wear a button up shirt, so there is no chance your hair will be messed up.
4. Pack your cute clutch purse with make-up, hairpins, band aids (just in case your shoes start to rub your heels), and a camera. (If that all can fit!)
5. Put your make-up on (it may already be on if you went to a make-up counter), get dressed, and do all final touch-ups.
6. You’re ready for a great date!

Winter Ball
As guys scrounge up the nerve to ask that special girl to Winter Ball, girls are spending their time in dress shops looking for that perfect dress.
