Taking the Higher Ground; Church of the Chimes
Come Be Something Higher Than Yourself

By Chris McElhatton

The HIGHER GROUND group at Church of the Chimes is a unique gathering of people. Focusing on relevance and truth, the youth group meets every Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:45p.m.
They have an incredible amount of events for the youth, such as a Car Rally, City Beach Lock-In, Hume Lake summer camp, and a Mexico missions trip in the summer. However, their gatherings are not just limited to Thursday nights youth group and events only once a month. To help the students become closer to God and grow as a community, they use small groups, games and other types of creative community builders.
Perhaps the most impressive feature of this youth group, though, is the idea that worshipping God is something that must be part of a student’s life. Students are meant to worship God continuously, and their worship cannot be confined within just one day. This idea was embodied in their “24- a day with God” events, which were held on January 1, 8, and 15. So if getting to know God on a deeper level is something you thirst after, or you just want to engage with Him in some intense worship, drop in on the HIGHER GROUND, Thursday nights from 7:00-8:45p.m.

Winter Ball
As guys scrounge up the nerve to ask that special girl to Winter Ball, girls are spending their time in dress shops looking for that perfect dress. The worst-case scenario would be for a girl to walk into Decathlon and see another girl wearing the same dress. The only way to avoid this terrible situation is to buy a one of a kind dress from a smaller less popular dress store.
