Winter Sports Rally
Annual Winter Sports Tip-Off Excites Student Body
By Kavita Padia and Kristin Chulick

The rally started off with the crowd in shock after watching an amazing dunk contest. Senior Brandon Holland represented the upper classmen by throwing down some difficult over the head dunks. Following Holland was freshman Tim Harris who made it a close call because he brought it up to a new level by doing a small windmill dunk. Then Holland won the crowd over by “kissing it off the glass,” then catching it and slamming the ball through the hoop. Holland ended up winning the competition, but it was definitely one of the best dunking contest Valley has ever had.
Following the dunk contest was a T-shirt drawing. The winner would receive two free Winter Ball tickets. Unfortunately there were no winners, but ASB encourages everyone to show some school spirit by wearing their school T-shirts to the next rally, which is to be held during Spirit Week,
The audience was in for more fun with the next activity the ASB had planned, a soccer game with a twist. The players had to play wearing inflatable donut tubes. Commentating the game was senior Jeremy Georges; along with him were two senior varsity soccer players, Austin Keeling and Joey Stryker refereeing the game. During the game, senior Kelsi Okuda had a little trouble staying on her feet, which made the game amusing for the whole audience to watch. The seniors won with a score of 3-2, with Jake Viramontez scoring a total of two goals. The rally came to a close with Mr. Ryan Hinn praying for the safety of all the teams and team captains.
This hour of funny and memorable moments would definitely rank as one of the top five rallies of the year.

Winter Ball
As guys scrounge up the nerve to ask that special girl to Winter Ball, girls are spending their time in dress shops looking for that perfect dress. The worst-case scenario would be for a girl to walk into Decathlon and see another girl wearing the same dress. The only way to avoid this terrible situation is to buy a one of a kind dress from a smaller less popular dress store.
