FROSH BASEBALL

By Sarah Reinartz
The boys frosh baseball
team has been hard at work practicing after school every day for
the tough season they had waiting ahead.
The first scheduled game of the season was on March 5 game against
De La Salle, and third game of the season, March 12 game against
Menlo were both unexpectedly cancelled at the last minute. They
are both to be rescheduled for later in the season.
The first game they actually ended up playing was March 10 against
Logan. They tried their hardest to pull through the tough game,
but came up short losing11-3. A great play was made by Anthony
Cuppins in center field by catching the ball and throwing it in
to home plate for the tag.
Unfortunately, they also lost to St. Francis on March 15, 14-8.
Although St. Francis scored 14 runs, Valley continued to battle
and came in scoring 8 runs. The guys are confident that even though
the first two games of their season have not been in their favor,
with hard work and continued effort they can come back and dominate
the rest of their season. Cuppins commented, “Its tough
to tell how the rest of the season will be, but with a lot of
hard work and practice, we definitely have the potential to win
the rest of the season. Practice makes perfect!”
