JV Boys Volleyball

Spring league play has finally
gotten underway and junior varsity men’s volleyball teams
around the WCAL are ready to play hard in this 2005 season. The
Valley Christian JV Warriors have gotten their taste of this year’s
West Catholic Athletic League competition.
March 1 brought the team to their first league match-up. Unfortunately
they ran into the Monarchs of Archbishop Mitty, a consistently
powerful force no matter what sport or at what level. The first
game of the ‘best of three’ regular format was constantly
back and forth until Mitty pulled away at the end. Yet the Warriors
got even closer to the Monarchs yet couldn’t quite pull
off the final points they needed; the score ended 25-22 and 25-23.
This was an impressive showing, especially for their first match
of league play as well as against this opponent.
The Warriors then played host to the visiting Bells of Bellarmine.
Another steadfast opponent, Bellarmine came into the competition
undefeated with a record of 3-0. Valley Christian again attained
the same result as they were felled by the Bells.
The Valley Christian junior varsity boys volleyball team is playing
hard and looking forward to the final month of the 2005 spring
season. Headed by coach Lance Kilpatrick, these Warriors are preparing
to take control of the second half.
