Students Display Their Talents in the Art Show

by Selena Ma

After all the blood, sweat and tears put into the masterpieces of these artists and video students, they were finally ready to display the fruit of their labor. The Valley Christian art show was open May 1-3.

Art and video students alike were busy gathering  work from the beginning of the year and trying to pick out their best work to show off. Senior Shaelyn Hanes had positive thoughts about the art show. "AP art makes you expand your style of artistic genre and it helps now because I have more variety in my portfolio to send to colleges." With creativity and style oozing from the Valley Christian hallways, the humble art students watched from a distance while spectators admired their work. Work was displayed by all of the art classes, which included Art 1, 2, 3 and AP Art. The talents exhibited through paintings were a testament of the students' hard work.

The film festival, located in Mr. Terry McElhatton's class, was as busy as ever. While anxious students waited for their video to play, others stood in amazement of the great work that was before their very eyes. A proud Mr. McElhatton exclaimed, "This year's students have produced the best videos I have seen in the 4 years I have worked at Valley Christian! The overall quality assembled by my video/film/TV classes have improved and it bodes well for next year and for the future of the Communications Department."
