By Kristin Chulick

College marks the beginning of a whole new lifestyle for students. All of a sudden they are no longer living at home and depending on their parents to give them what they need. College students or college bound students have to find jobs that can pay for all the necessities and e xpenses that the hecticness that the college life can bring.

Finding jobs is seen by some as a difficult task, but if you use the right techniques and are persistent, it will not be as hard as you think. First of all, go collect job applications. Look like you are serious about working there, meaning, dress and act appropriate. Make sure you ask for two applications so if you make a mistake, you can use the other. Then when turning in the application dress appropriate once again, and hand the application into the manager and let them know you are interested in working there. If you do not receive a call within a week go in and talk to the manager about the status of your application, and let them know that you are very interested in working there, that will let them know that you are serious about working for their company.

Now that you know the basics on attempting to find a job. Figure out how to budget. That way once you have a job you do not go through your money as if you are still living with your parents. Save and do not splurge. It is easy to go shopping and spend an enormous amount of money, but when you reach college that is a good habit to break. College jobs are not always fun, but in order to keep a job always work your hardest and it will pay off in the end.
