It's not too late... Last-Minute Financial Aid Advice

Attention seniors, did you forget to apply for financial aid or have you already passed the deadlines? If that is you, do not worry-you still have time. The California deadline for FAFSA is March 2, but the web FAFSA deadline is July 2. There is still an opportunity for seniors who did not meet the California deadline to file an application. You can apply online right now. Electronic applications are faster and much easier to use, they also take less time to process.
If you do not qualify for FAFSA and/or Pell grant, contact your college’s financial department and they can assist your financial needs. They would offer either full loans or partial aids.
Other scholarships are available throughout the summer and spring seasons. Many of the scholarships available are essay contests or require a short essay about you. Be sure to register as soon as possible so you don’t miss the deadlines. They can be found on www.fastweb.com.. The website will show the deadlines for each of the scholarships offered now and will send a reminder notice as the deadline is approaching.
