Valley's Gymnastics Star

Alexandra “Aia” Evans is a sophomore at Valley and has been competing in gymnastics since the 3rd grade. She is a level 9 gymnast at Almaden Valley Gymnastics Club.

Evans had a great season. She competed in 7 meets: 4 regular competitions, a State meet, a Regional meet,  and the National Championships...putting together a rather impressive list of achievements for the year...

*Surf Classic in Santa Cruz: 1st on beam and 1st on floor. She took 2nd place All-Around.

*Golden State Classic in Rancho Cordova: 1st on beam, 1st on floor and 1st All-Around

*Hard Rock Invitational in Arizona: 2nd on beam, 2nd on floor and 2nd All-Around

*Great West Gym Fest in Idaho: 1st on vault, 1st on beam, 1st on floor with a score of 9.675 ( her best meet and her highest score for the season.) 1st place All-Around. She qualified to the event finals and took 2nd on beam and 1st on floor.

*NorCal Level 9/10 State Championships in Oroville: 2nd on vault, 2nd on beam and 5th All-Around

*Region 1 Level 9/10 Regional Championships in Temecula: 3rd on beam, 6th All-Around and 1st on floor making her the Regional Floor Champion( Northern California, Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah)

*Jr. Olympic Level 9 Western Championships in Colorado Springs,Co: 1st on floor with a score of 9.625, making her the National Floor Champion Level 9 Junior B Division.

*The 2006 Jr. Olympic Level 9 Western Championships for Women

  Of the 68,000 female competitive gymnasts in the United States there are approximately 2500 Jr. Olympic Level 9 athletes competing in the four Western regions (all states west of the Mississippi) April 21-23, the “Best of the West,” 384 Level 9 gymnasts competed in eight age divisions for individual event, All-Around and team honors.

Evans’ season is over, but she continues to train 22-24 hours a week, now and throughout the summer. The season will start again in January. God has blessed Aia with this gift.  Pray for her perseverance of God’s handy work. “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalms 37:4
