Last April, of 2005, several editors and writer went to Seattle for the national high school journalism conference. I was pleasantly taken aback at how advanced the quality of The Warrior was, as it seemed to be among the nation’s best high school newspapers. I would like to say thank you to the many people who made the VCHS Warrior possible for 2005-2006. Many long, seemingly hard-fought days and hours were put in to produce the best possible school paper. Each editor and writer did their part in taking new strides in The Warrior.
Enough about us, there is just one last step before the coveted summer break of 2006. For the seniors that last step is graduation, coming this Saturday, May 27. For Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, that step is finals next week. A dreaded week, yet it signifies the end. Yet, all of us would of course admit that they would much rather be sitting in uncomfortable writing desks rather than their dreaded beds with no need to even wake up, maybe. The truth is we all dream of this day from the beginning of September.
Seniors, life is here. No more regimented schedules, homework passes, or PowerSchool. It will be tough at first, so I’ve heard, but I truly believe that with God, life can be greater than ever imagined. Never forget these high school years. Check out the Senior Section following the Sports for some great times ahead and behind, especially the pictures from the past four years.
It is now time to hit the beaches, beds, snooze buttons, and possibly the time cards for work. I wish the best of luck to next year’s Warrior staff.
