Senior Memories

By Brittany Brinkman

Senior year is almost over, and it’s always fun to look back at memories from all four years.  There were, of course, good times and bad times, sad times and happy times.  There were championships won and championships lost.  Rallies full of games occurred, where friends came together to just have fun.  So much has happened in these four years.  There are so many memories and each person has their own unique one.

Laura Nystrom- “Sophomore year Sadie Hawkins was so much fun.  It was the first time I really got to know all my friends and we all got to look cute in our poodle skirts.”

Mrs. Bales- “I loved when everybody came together to sell the JW bracelets.  The whole school really came together to support this great cause.”

Mr. Meester- “Last year when the Boys Varsity Basketball team won the West Catholic League Tournament.  All the current Seniors stepped up as Juniors to help lead the team to victory.”

Mr. Machado- “Winning the CCS Football Championship was one of my favorite memories.  The whole school really came together to support the whole varsity team.”

Jeffy Can- “Brad McLaughlin called me one morning to tell me that there was a hostage situation at school, and that school had been canceled.  I called everyone to tell them the exciting news.  Then Brad called me back and said that school was not canceled.  So I had to call everyone back and everyone was really sad.”

Esther Lee- “I had so much fun on the Paris trip this year!  It was really cool to visit Europe with a bunch of my friends.”

Stephanie Neil- “Every single tennis season was so much fun.  Especially when I was playing doubles and a ball hit my stomach and went back across the net.  We could not decide if it was my point or not.”

Ashley Bicknell- “Going to the Legion of Honor during sophomore year was a lot of fun.  We got to run around the museum taking random pictures, and miss a whole day of school.”

Jordan Apgar- “Football Season!”

Niki Aquino- “Whale watching freshmen year is a memory I will never forget.  My friends and I got to play around on the boat, shop at the little stores, and run around on top of a restaurant.  It was great!  Also, I dropped Brittany Brinkman’s camera in the ocean by accident!  I still apologize for that!”

Trish Romanchuck- “Senior year tennis season was the best.  Especially on senior night, everyone was crying and there was a lot of good food!  It was a lot of fun!”

Alisan Ainslie- “Being in ASB last year was amazing.  There are so many memories that I will never forget.”

Miss Claypool- “I chaperoned for the Square Dance and JSB, and both times, some of my AP students swarmed around me, dragged me out to the dance floor, and made me part of the dancing group.  At JSB, because I could not come down to the floor, a bunch of them (Stashak, Huynh, Coetsee, Sisson) kept chanting my name and waving to me.  I have never had people chanting my name before, and I’ve never been so enthusiastically pulled into student activity.  So, while I have many good memories of my first year at Valley, the dances top the list. (Erin Oswald even said I was a good dancer!)
