New Delhi Project: God Continues to Provide

by Kaitlyn Baker

Miracles happen when Christians choose to do God’s will. God moved Superintendent Dr. Clifford Daugherty to unite with Grace Public School in New Delhi, India, to raise money for a new building so that enrollment can increase, and through many fund raising efforts and much prayer, the project is continuing to progress.

The total funds that have been raised thus far is $51,026, and increase of over $8,000 from just two months ago! To raise money for the school in New Delhi, Valley Christian schools have held bake sales, raffles, quarter drives, jump-house events, and special donations at chapels.

One way Valley Christian students can contribute to this project is to purchase Merchant Coupon Books, available in the business office. They only cost $20, and half of that will go directly to the New Delhi project. These books are a great bargain, containing over $200 worth of coupons that can be used at many popular locations, including Chevy’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, and Quiznos.

Another way students can become involved in the New Delhi project is to help film monthly videos of staff and students at fundraising events. These videos will be sent to the school in New Delhi to encourage them in their fundraising efforts. The New Delhi school will do the same, and the videos will be shown at various chapels and events. Anyone interested in this project should contact Mr. Werner Vavken at wvavken@valleychristian.net.

Mr. Vavken would like to encourage all VCHS students to help finish this year strong by contributing to the New Delhi project. The elementary school students have raised twice the amount of money as the high school and junior high combined! It’s time for VCHS students to rise to the challenge and continue to support this project!
