The ASB Says Get Real!
by Joseph Townsend
This year the theme created by the ASB
is Get Real! Some people ask why is that the theme this year?
ASB sports commissioner Jeremy Georges said, “I believe
it’s important to Get Real.” What are you hiding from?
The verse behind every ASB t-shirt explains it all. Get Real means
don’t try to be something that you’re not. In other
words it means that it’s cool to just be yourself.
Being in the ASB is not an easy job. It’s full of hard work,
dedication, and rigorous tasks. To even be recommended as an ASB
officer, you must have a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Then
you must fill out an application to see if you eligible to be
an ASB staff member. There were a lot of people who signed up
for ASB but only a chosen few could be on the staff. Here are
your 2004-2005 ASB staff members:
President: Nathan Sills
Vice President: Kyle Bergland
Secretary: Allison Brown
Treasurer: Kendall Hundrieser
Public Relations: Megan Kuzia
Internal Affairs: Sogol Navai
Music Coordinator: Emily Plug
Community Service Representative: Paula Luu
Chapel Coordinator: Amy Syres
Chapel Music Coordinator: Christopher Isaacs
Cheer Representative: Karla Portale
Rally Coordinator: Bryan Dudley
Sports Commissioner: Jeremy Georges
ASB is a fun job but sometimes the ASB staff gets criticism because
they don’t do things that people find funny or they like.
In ASB there are some rules and regulations that the ASB has to
follow. Nathan Sills said, “Yeah there are rules and regulations,
but they are only there to help you so you won’t mess up
a rally or a dance.” The ASB is working really hard to make
this year fun and entertaining. Next time you see a rally or go
to a dance remember that the ASB is doing the best job that they
possibly can for the VCHS student body.
