College Advice is Here!

*July and August
2004
-Take SAT I: Reasoning Test and SAT II: Subject Tests well before
college deadlines. Colleges should receive scores about three
weeks after the test, but it can take longer. Be on the safe side.
-Make sure to always request applications, brochures, and financial
aid information from colleges. Try to narrow your college interest
list to five to eight colleges if possible.
-Make as many college visits as possible, get a feel for the college/campus
lifestyle.
*September 2004
-Mark your calendar with important dates and deadlines for the
upcoming year.
-Talk to senior counselor about college plans, financial aid options,
and your personal transcript.
*October 2004
-Get a head start on your college application essays
-Ask a senior counselor about local scholarships that are available
-Search for other scholarships that match your personal skills
and interests
