Redeemer of Life
By Valerie Anderson
Who is this one
Of whom you talk?
This gentle being
Who on water did walk?
The one you say
Has eyes of gold,
And been around
Since the days of old.
When he whispers
You will hear it
In the name
Of the Holy Spirit.
In your hearts
He starts a flame
And with great cause
You shout his name.
This one you call Savior
Has given you life
Walks with you always
Through joy and through strife.
Who is this Father
That sent his son
To fight a great battle
He eternally won?
You trust in Him always
You know he is near
Despite Satan’s power
You need not fear
His smile so charming
His love so bright
It cuts through the darkness
Like an arrow of light.
Your Master and Maker
The one you call Jesus
Will step down to earth.
To come and release us.
Saving his people
Condemning the sinners
In the very end
The Christians are winners.
This man of great wonders
I dare to explore
To find the true life
I want to know more.
Stars
on the Wind
By David Urbach
Down alleys swathed in shadow
Round corners dark and grim
Through secret paths and lairs of wrath
Treads Dameon Starwind.
A man of many secrets
From whom none shall leak.
They say that if he gave the word
The walls themselves would speak!
An eye patch and a blackish
hat
Above his crafty grin
A word, a sword, a cloak at night
Is often Dameon Starwind.

Welcome to the Castle, a place of imagination and dreams standing
out against the backdrop of everyday reality. Here the songs and
epics of the newest generation of bards and scribes find their place
of honor. All those who walk the great halls of Valley Christian
are welcome here, beckoned to bring their own majestic tales to
the floor…
Last month we displayed the
heroic and compassionate poem Gentle Crusader, by Blake Anderson.
This month we have two features. This first poem, by the illustrious
David Urbach, describes a gallant hero striding through the dark
streets of Dentor. David’s use of imagery and poetic skill
portray Dameon as a foe with which to be reckoned for any evildoers
who dare lurk in the shadowed streets of the city. Keep it coming,
David. We want to see more of this guy.
On a brighter note, Valerie
Anderson’s poem describes another hero of slightly greater
fame. This is a wonderful depiction of Jesus Christ and a call to
Christians to live lives that reflect Christ’s love as an
example for the lost.
