KVCH Monthly Music Review
By Brian Elwell
Muse broke into the US radio
scene about six months ago with their song, “Time is Running
Out.” Since then we haven’t heard anything from this
British trio. Their newest CD, Absolution is fantastic to say
the least, boasting 14 tracks of almost perfection. One of the
most interesting features of Absolution is that most of the tracks
are ether fully orchestrated, or have great piano accompaniment
ny Matthew Bellamy who is also lead vocalist and plays guitar.
There isn’t any band Muse can be compared with, which is
the beauty of it, when the mainstream of modern rock gets bland,
Muse is one of those bands who go out there on a limb and tries
for something different with their unique style of rock. The CD
overall has a Carpe Diem kind of a theme with many of the songs
saying to live your life to the fullest. The slightly younger
band has been hitting the studio since 1999 and has come out with
4 long CDs since then. There really are no tracks to highlight
because they are all equally good, with only one or two that I
do not listen to. Muse gets a 4/5 for awesome writing musically
and lyrically and putting together a sound package.
