Boys JV Water Polo
by Ryan Eshoff
Competing in WCAL water polo
is no easy task. The JV Boys team has fought hard in one of CCS’s
toughest divisions. A productive preseason was preparation for
WCAL play. Their opener against top-ranked Bellarmine was a battle,
but the always-tough Bells persevered, 10-0. The team then had
to battle traditional league powers Serra and Archbishop Mitty,
stumbling 9-4 against the Padres and 18-1 against the Monarchs.
While consistently showing improvement, the team nearly pulled
out a victory over Saint Francis, with the Lancers prevailing
7-6 . The Warriors fought hard, but came up just a goal short.
Freshman Jared Clapham leads the team with his 8 goals, which
is 5th in the league. Though Clapham is moving up to join the
varsity squad, the team still feels positively about their future.
From their showings of tremendous heart, there is no doubt the
JV boys water polo team will continue to improve throughout the
season.
