The Girls JV Tennis Team
by Caroline Evans
The girls JV Tennis teams,
coming away with a few victories, are wrapping their season up.
The girls have faced some fierce competition from St. Francis,
Presentation, and Sacred Heart, to name a few. What motivates
them? Sophomore, Joyce Yoo, said, “Most of the games are
really close and this motivates us to try harder.”
Other students on the team are also motivated to finish with a
bang. Sophomore, Emily Kay, said that the love of the game played
a big part in helping her get through the season. Another sophomore,
Brooke Stroup, said that God motivated her to keep playing. A
common drive to improve themselves is also a motivating factor
for all the girls.
As the season comes to a close, the girls have a sense of team
unity brought on and encouraged by their coach, Cuong Dui. Stroup
commented on the coach bringing food for the players, including
egg rolls and fried rice, praying before games and practices-which
led to the girls becoming closer as friends and teammates.
All in all, the Jv tennis team has persevered through a lot- 95-degree
weather at the start of the season, tough competition, and hard
practices- now rain- and they have come through all of it as a
team, having build friendships and memories along the way.
