Girls Varsity H20 Polo
by Sarah Marr
The varsity girls’ water
polo team has had an amazing season thus far, dominating each
tournament they enter and never backing down from any of the challenging
league opponents.
The team has improved greatly from last year and it has been reflected
in their record. Thus far in tournament play VC has done exceedingly
well. The girls have placed 2nd in both the Hollister and Harbor
Beach tournaments, as well as winning the championships in three
other tournaments, including the Valley Christian Classic. West
Catholic League play has proved to be a challenge for the girls,
however they did come out with a win against Notre Dame, beating
the Tigers by a score of 8-3.
Individually the girls have all made great strides, especially
junior Christina Shilling who has scored an astounding 13 goals
in 5 games. As the season is coming to a close the girls are looking
forward toward the prospect of CCS. Junior Caitlyn Moyles commented,
“Our season has been awesome, our team has a close bond
and we are really looking to end our season with even more success.”
The varsity girls’ water polo team has worked hard all season,
making every practice count and now they are looking forward to
reaping the fruits of their labor.
