Teresa SAT Scandal
One Person May Have Altered the SAT's for Hundreds
by Kavita Padia and Chris McElhatton
For most people, waking up early on a Saturday
morning to trudge into an unfamiliar classroom and pound out five
hours of testing is not on the top of their to do list. For those
who were scheduled to take SATs at Santa Teresa, though, having to
show up a second time due to rescheduling was simply too much.
Many rumors have been bouncing around as to what exactly happened
that fateful morning on October 8. But what really happened?
Well, on Saturday, October 29, a Valley Christian reporter went to
Ground Zero; Santa Teresa High School. According to the administrators
questioned there, it all started when an SAT test was found missing.
ETS (Educational Testing Services) was informed and an investigation
was underway.
Every school proctoring the test is responsible for every test, and
must make sure that they are all accounted for. However, when counting
the tests, one was found missing. During the investigation, anyone
who touched the test, was near the test, or even knew where the tests
were located, was questioned.
So far it has not been determined if the test was taken, or whether
it was misplaced. There are several possibilities. One is that, when
the test packets were delivered, one of the packets was already opened,
with a test missing. Another possibility is that the test was stolen
after it reached Santa Teresa.
Although no one is quite sure what happened, the facts remain; a test
was unaccounted for; SATs that day were canceled, and hundreds of
students were unhappy about having to either take SATs that day at
a different school, or come back three weeks later for a different
test. And that’s how an unhappy Saturday for many, got even worse.

Square Dance in the City
A typical Saturday night at the Valley Christian campus does not usually
consist of 594 students dancing in the large gym. However, on October
15, VC students came to celebrate the annual Square Dance. The large
gym was festively decorated “barn yard” style with an array of farm
animals and crepe paper. The student body stepped away from the usual
matching t-shirts outfit and transformed the dance into more of a
costume party. The senior class definitely outdid themselves with
outrageous costumes such as penguin suits, knights and damsels, and
even washer and dryer machines.

school that will help raise to raise the funds.

with Valley students on October 12. She shared her image of the school

West Catholic League!
As the league football season rapidly nears its end and
the West Catholic teams begin their final preparations for CCS playoffs,
the Warriors are doubling their efforts in practice to ensure that
they will be competing at the top of their game.
On October 7, Valley Christian hosted the Riordan Crusaders under
their own bright lights. The Warriors, after the huge homecoming victory
over Mitty the previous week, executed both offense and defense with
confidence and were able to gain an early lead.
