Isaiah 40:31
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
So many times we are bogged down with school, sports, family, and friends that we lose focus of what is truly important. The majority of us have heard how we need to “focus on God and allow Him to get us through our struggles,” and while that is extremely true, we need to realize why that is and how it works. Whether you are stressed out now, tired, sad, or even mostly satisfied with your life, there will be a time this year (or it could be now) that you will feel completely stretched, upset, and confused. This is the time where Isaiah 40:31 will become evidently appropriate and applicable. God is there for us anytime, anywhere, and for any reason, and if you honestly are able to have hope in Him in order to help you out, He will give you strength and the endurance to get through it. To be honest, it is hard to imagine a time when something will be going wrong, and you will feel great, but this verse tells us that is possible. Yes, we can prosper without God, but there will always be something missing, and success will not be all that we think it is, but with the Lord’s assistance, we will be able to excel beyond measure, in areas we do not even expect. We all experience “breakdowns,” and they are most definitely not fun. But if we will just stop believing we can do everything on our own, doors will open and we will be able to “run and not grow weary.” The key to all of these things is the fact that we need to “hope in the Lord.” None of this will be a factor without that.
God is omnipresent-He is everywhere; God is omnificent-He can do anything; God is omnipotent-He is all-powerful. And with that, we take our human successes along with our imperfections and we are able to “do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Without a doubt, life will happen whether we want it to or not, so why not have hope and know for certain that with faith, trust, and understanding of God’s promises we can conquer the impossible and rejoice in the happiness that comes with that? Certainly, that sounds amazing: why not give it try?!
