In their blood is a passion so deep and so true that it makes others want to find out what is so great about it. They travel and camp out, not knowing if they will win, or fail. But driven by this passion and this love for the sport; they never give up, and when they fall or fail they get back up, ready for the next challenge. These are the motocrossers of Valley.

Freshman Autumn Becerra is a proud motocrosser with an immeasurable love for the sport. Practicing 4-6 times a week, she listens intently to her new trainer Billy Jurevich. Jurevich is a professional dirtbiker, and he gladly helps Becerra improve her skills. She began riding about two years ago, and people have noticed a great improvement.

Becerra heads out to many racetracks to practice, including Madera, SJMX, Hanford, and Club Moto. Her favorite, however, is Madera. Becerra has many bikes, her most recent being a 2006 YZ250F. Becerra says that the most intense moment of dirtbiking is at the starting line, where she bows her head and prays to God for a good race. She later adds, “Confidence is the key thing in MX”. Getting prepared for a race, she always prays and then listens to various rock artists to get pumped up for the challenge.

Becerra is proud to say that San Jose Yamaha, PanicRev Ministries, Skoty Chops Kustoms, and Exhaust Works sponsor her. PanicRev Ministries is a religious team that teaches God’s Word, and holds devotions at the track, which are close to the same beliefs, as a Christian, that Becerra has. Many dirtbikers attend these devotions, which is always good to hear. Becerra also attends almost every time that she can.

“What is required to do this sport?” Becerra was asked. She said simply while smiling, “Determination, Heart, and LOVE!” Becerra also replied eagerly, “YES! That is my goal in life. I AM going pro.” Becerra is only one of the many dirtbikers of Valley. Others include freshman Ryan Pluckhan and seniors AJ Forgy and Dustin Johnson. One thing they all have in common is the love, determination, and passion for the sport. They are the motocrossers of Valley.
