The JV Water polo team continues their season and persists to strive for that first place in the West Catholic League. The team is still practicing hard in the afternoons and mornings to prepare for their upcoming tournaments, league games, and play-offs.
On October 6 and 7 the water polo team took the bus to Jesuit High School for an all day tournament. The team won their first game, but ended up losing their next game against Granite Bay High School.
St. Francis was the next big game that took place on Tuesday, October 10. Alex Higginbotham, sophomore, and Dustin McKennen, freshman, both had one goal each. The team swam hard against the Lancers, but came up short with an 11-2 loss. Two days later the team played a close game against St. Ignatius. The team did not manage a win, but had a close game with a score of 9-8. Goals were scored by freshman, Mark Liu and sophomore, Josh Kapp.
The JV Water Polo team has a lot of talent this year and continues to play their hardest. Sophomore, Jeremy Corales, stated that, “The team started out a little slow, but as the season progresses, we have managed to step it up. I’m sure the team will finish the year out strong.” The team practices even harder with the WCAL approaching quickly. They are determined to fight hard and bring home the wins.
