This year at Valley Christian’s lunch lines, students are holding new skinny cans that appear in different, bright colors. With the lack of soda, students are turning to a new option now offered here at school. It’s called XS energy drink and tea and is a hot, new alternative to soft drinks. XS offers no grams of sugar and 0-2 grams of carbohydrates unlike other energy drinks such as Red Bull, Sobe No Fear, Monster, Rockstar, Full Throttle, and Amp. The slogan of XS, which is “All of the Energy! None of the Sugar!” sums this up clearly. The energy drink comes in all kinds of flavors including Tea-Berry Blast, Root beer Blast, Cranberry-Grape Blast, Tropical Blast, and Cherry Blast, which give students a wide variety to choose from. Senior Tim Bui commented, “I’m glad we have energy drinks at school now to keep everyone awake.” His classmate Ryan Lowder agreed saying, “I love the new drinks and enjoy the fruity flavors!”
