Girls Volleyball
by Adam Hill
After starting off strong, the girls J.V. volleyball team beat San
Benito High School, only to lose two consecutive matches against Mountain
View High School and Menlo High School. Determined to come back, they
placed third in the Milpitas Spike Fest tournament with four wins.
Valley started off with a 5 and 3 record in the preseason. Leah
Elias made a spectacular play against Live Oak in the Tournament.
Elias dove and one-handed the ball to setter Tori Bergland,
who set up the ball to Jill Singletary who hit it
for the kill to score the winning point.
The Warriors have started off the regular season strong. After finishing
very strong in the 3rd annual VCHS J.V. Tournament, the girls have
set some high goals for themselves. They are looking forward to competing
against Archbishop Mitty, St. Francis, and Presentation to prove how
strong they are.

level out of 5), devastated much of the United States along the Gulf
Coast.

the West Catholic League. Senior Andrew Kikuta and
Junior Jonathan Langdon are this year's team captains.
